Easily accessible and oozing with character, our jaw-droppingly large bedroom boasted a super comfy king-sized bed. We were blown away by the spotlessly clean and well-appointed shower room, and although the toilet was just a hop across the hall, it was exclusively ours. Monique, the delightful host, charmed us with her local knowledge, and the scrumptious breakfast spread left us mind-blown with homemade preserves, croissants. Parking was a breeze, with a safe spot on the broad pavement by the canal. The rural surroundings beckoned us for picturesque walks, especially in the breathtaking autumn colors. The nearby historic church in Doulaincourt was a moving tribute during the WW1 centenary, and the closest town of Joinville catered to all our supermarket and restaurant needs. We only spent one night here, but it quickly stole the limelight as our favorite stopover on our holiday. The immensely spacious chambre rouge exuded old-world charm, and the terrace treated us to a refreshing cold beer upon arrival. The next morning's breakfast exceeded all expectations with its exquisite selection of cheese, homemade preserves, and divine coffee. This place truly felt like a picture-perfect postcard, perfectly suited for a short escape. Comfortable and inviting, this hidden gem became our haven with its lovely outdoor dining area furnished with rattan lounge chairs. The delicious breakfast and warm hospitality made it well worth the slightly off-the-beaten-track drive. Plus, we were thrilled to receive a welcome drink for the adults and sodas for the kids! Delightful!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had lots of character. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite shower and wash basin were convenient. The hotel staff, particularly Monique, were charming and helpful, providing information about the local area. We ordered breakfast, which was plentiful and delicious, with homemade preserves, croissants, fresh bread. The hotel's location by the church was picturesque and the surrounding area was rural, offering great opportunities for walking. The parking on the broad pavement by the canal was safe and convenient.
Nothing, all excellent.

I always come back because of the helpful staff who assisted me with transportation on my first stay. This place suits me perfectly with Wi-Fi, free parking, a flat-screen TV, and a no smoking/pets policy. Can't wait to come back for my next trip.

This guest house features a terrace with parasols and sun loungers, which was the perfect spot for me to relax and soak up the sun after a long day of cycling. It felt like my own private oasis in the countryside, a mini beach resort without the sand.
No restaurant or bar nearby.

The heated rooms at Chez Monique are so cozy and inviting with their wooden furniture. I loved waking up to the views of the river or garden from certain units. The private or shared bathrooms, complete with bath robes, added a touch of luxury to my stay. I especially enjoyed the bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet.
I personally would have preferred a bathroom with a shower instead of a bath, but that's just my preference.

We got incredible value for our money at this charming hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views of the square. The location, although a little off the beaten track, was worth the drive as it provided a picturesque setting. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel like part of the family. We also enjoyed the fantastic outside area for dining, with a beautiful rattan lounge suite. The breakfast was delicious, with homemade preserves and a variety of fresh bread and pastries. To top it off, the welcome drink for adults and soda for the kids was a delightful touch.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast better would be a wider variety of options.

The hotel location was perfect for our Easter getaway, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We particularly enjoyed the spacious and comfortable rooms, which were clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was a highlight, with delicious homemade preserves, croissants, fresh bread, cheese, yoghurts. The host was charming and provided helpful information about the local area. The village itself had lots of character, and there were plenty of opportunities for rural walks and exploring nearby towns.
The Wi-Fi speed at the hotel was a bit slow, especially for my wife and children who relied on it heavily. However, I was able to use my 3G with a good signal, so it wasn't a major inconvenience.
